For the following reasons:
- High profile. You can see over smaller cars. This helps a lot in traffic.
- Lower gearing that is easier to manage without constantly slipping the clutch in slow traffic.
- Torque at lower speeds.
- Relaxed and upright riding position.
- Wide handle bars for good control.
- Luggage carrying capacity with optional luggage extras.

Just be aware of the following:
- Dual-purpose or off road tyres will not perform to the same standard as on road tyres in on road conditions.
