Being a dual purpose biker I am not to fond of mass rides, but would rather prefer to point my motorcycle down a dirt road for a nice trip with a few friends. The annual Toyrun is the one exception.
The Toyrun is marketed as the biggest motorcycle charity event in the world. 40 000 Bikes were expected. I started at the Greenstone Hill start venue. The participants that I chatted to enjoyed the ride to NASREC, although at places the road works on the N1 slowed the whole procession.
As always the organisation and safety was very well organised. Mountains of toys were collected for underpriveleged children as Christmas presents. This will remain an event that I will continue to support as a worthy cause.
The annual Gauteng Toyrun was held on the 30th of November 2008.
Hope to see you there in 2009...
